Emergency & Walk-In Appointments

Banksia Medical Centre operates primarily on an appointment-based system. In urgent situations, patients without an appointment may be assessed by our qualified practice nurses and triaged according to clinical urgency.

Appointments are allocated based on the level of care required.

For after-hours emergency medical needs, please call 000 or contact the National Home Doctor Service on 13 74 25.

Telehealth Billing Information

Telehealth consultations are privately billed. Medicare rebates may be available for eligible patients who have attended a face-to-face appointment within the last 12 months, in line with Medicare requirements.

If you have not been seen face to face within the last 12 months, or if you are overseas at the time of the consultation, Medicare rebates may not apply and the appointment will be billed privately.

Please note:

  • Telehealth calls may come from a private number
  • Patients should ensure their phone is able to receive private calls
  • Payment is required on the day of the appointment

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are generally issued as part of a consultation, unless prior arrangements have been made with your doctor.

Prescription requests made without an appointment may incur a minimum private fee, as they require clinical review and processing time. Reception can advise on current fees.

Medicare & MyMedicare

If you have a valid Medicare card, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for certain services.

MyMedicare registration allows patients to formally register with their preferred GP and clinic, supporting better coordinated care and access to certain Medicare-funded services. Reception staff can assist with registration and enquiries.

Payment Types

Payment is required on the day of your appointment.
We accept:

  • Cash
  • EFTPOS
  • Debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard)

Cheques are not accepted.

Fee Reviews

Professional service fees are reviewed regularly. Fee increases generally occur annually and may also be adjusted in response to changes in operating costs and Medicare rebates.
